“She Was Fighting Back Tears…” — Emmerdale’s Isabel Hodgins Overwhelmed As A Fellow Mum Steps In At The Perfect Moment
Emmerdale’s Isabel Hodgins became a mum for the first time earlier this year. It brings plenty of joyful moments, but caring for a tiny human every day also means things that used to be easy can become surprisingly tricky.
Isabel, who is 32, gave birth to Georgie Grace in February.
She shared the wonderful news of the little girl’s arrival on her social media, and now posts regular updates on Georgie’s progress, as well as life as first time parents for her and partner Adam.
A couple of days ago, the actress was in an M&S café in the Trafford Centre trying to cool off from the heatwave. While she was there, Isabel started feeding her baby, but ordered some food for herself at the same time.
Speaking in a video posted to her Facebook, Isabel explained what happened:
‘I went and hid in the Trafford Centre because I thought it’d be cool in the shops. So that’s what we did, and I went to M&S cafe to feed the baby, and I ordered avocado on toast with a side of smoked salmon, and normally, when I’m feeding her and trying to eat, Adam will cut up my food for me.’‘I was riding solo, and this lovely woman came up to me and went, “do you want me to cut your food up for you?”. And ordinarily, I would’ve gone, “No it’s fine, it’s fine”, and struggled. I took the opportunity and I said, “That would be so kind of you, thank you so much!”. So she cut my salmon up for me.’
Isabel went on to say that this woman reflected on how she experienced similar situations with her own children.
She added: ‘I just thought, aren’t mums and aren’t people gorgeous. No disrespect to dads, but a dad didn’t offer, and a mum did! I hope this lovely lady gets all the nice, kind karma in the world.’
In the caption of the post, Isabel said that she was ‘close to tears’, and would really love to locate the woman so she can ‘say thank you properly’.

Isabel left her Emmerdale role as Victoria Sugden also in February. In order to facilitate Isabel’s maternity leave, Vic departed the village for a new life in Portugal with son Harry.
At the time, Vic and brother Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) had just sold their family farmland to Joe Tate (Ned Porteous).
Concluding that the place she called home for so long was now holding too many bad memories, Vic decided that leaving would be best, but she told Robert that she would definitely return.
