“Cindy Wasn’t Supposed To See This…” — Priya And Max Are ‘Caught’ Together, But One Hidden Secret Could Destroy Everything

EastEnders’ Max Branning (Jake Wood) has been playing with fire by falling into bed with Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan-Levy) just after proposing to partner Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins), but his lies threaten to catch up with him next week.

Max and Priya come seriously close to getting caught out when Cindy starts to become suspicious of the pair during her engagement party in forthcoming scenes.

The week begins with Cindy being downbeat about her big bash when her children Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) and Peter Beale (Thomas Law) show a lack of interest.

With Max busy at the car lot, she assumes he isn’t bothered about celebrating their engagement until he pushes for them to go big with the celebrations.

As she goes into full-scale planning mode, Cindy then naively enlists Priya from the car lot to help her organise the party, completely unaware she’s slept with the groom-to-be.

Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) also gets roped into helping, but during preparations, she unintentionally upsets Priya, and when she tries to comfort her, Priya ends up revealing all about the recent end of her relationship with Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara).

Later, Priya clashes with Cindy, and fearing Priya is a loose cannon who could expose their affair, Max steps in and intervenes.

Priya is irked, however, and she leaves Max rattled when she issues him with a warning.

Enjoying seeing Max squirm, Priya later makes a bold entrance to his and Cindy’s engagement party and raises the stakes by openly flirting with Max.

This doesn’t go unnoticed by Cindy, who starts to look at the pair very closely…

With Max’s life set to spiral seriously out of control in the lead-up to New Year’s Day – the events of which were previewed in January’s special flashforward episode – we’d say he may just end up living to regret ever crossing Cindy, who isn’t exactly famed for behaving rationally when she’s wronged…
