Devastated Emmerdale fans are convinced they know the manner in which Jimmy King will meet his end, following reports that the beloved character is set to be written out of the show.
Jimmy (Nick Miles) has been a cornerstone of the long-running ITV soap since 2004 and has undoubtedly cemented his place as one of the programme’s most cherished characters.
He has also featured prominently in numerous major storylines. From his treasured marriage to Nicola (Nicola Wheeler) to even surviving a stabbing, Jimmy’s time in the Dales has never been short of drama.
This week, however, reports emerged that Jimmy was to be killed off. A source told The Sun: “Bosses are under pressure to cut costs and sadly that means popular cast members being told their time is up.”
They further claimed: “Once the decision was made that Nick would be leaving, the writers quickly realised his character wouldn’t abandon his wife and children so they had to kill him off.” Reach has contacted ITV for comment, reports the Daily Star/

His departure could be linked to the return of Jimmy’s ex-wife, Sadie King (Patsy Kensit), which was also recently confirmed. Emmerdale producer Laura Shaw confirmed that Patsy would reprise her role as Sadie, stating that her comeback is “guaranteed to shock”.
Now, with speculation mounting over how Jimmy will reportedly meet his fate on the soap, some fans believe Sadie will be responsible. Others, however, have predicted a dramatic twist.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers believe Nicola could be responsible for Jimmy’s demise. One viewer wrote: “Jimmy cheats on Nicola with Sadie, Nicola kills Jimmy.”

Another responded: “Noooooo.” A third chimed in: “It’s too predictable if Sadie kills him off, I’m sure Nicola could be involved.” A fourth also penned: “Absolutely gutted about Jimmy, but I agree I don’t think it will be Sadie who kills him.”
Sadie departed in 2006, two years after her introduction alongside the Kings, having faked her own death. She and Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) had conspired to pilfer the Kings’ fortune, only for Cain to betray her.
Yet her motivation for returning to the Dales remains shrouded in mystery, leaving fans with plenty of room to speculate.
