đ± âWhat have I done?â â Sam is consumed by regret after brutal confrontation turns deadly

The Dingles in Emmerdale are all about family. When one of them needs help, someone else is usually there to assist. Loyalty runs through their veins but more often than not, so does the inability to back out of a plan when theyâre in too deep.
Itâs almost time for Cain Dingleâs (Jeff Hordley) operation following his prostate cancer diagnosis. Itâs been an incredibly stressful start to the year for him, as heâs had to deal with this life-changing news on top of Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) spending time in prison for crimes she didnât commit.
Moira is back home now, and also knows that Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) were behind framing her for people trafficking. Sheâs kept the Robert part of this situation a secret from Cain, due to the fact she didnât want to add to his stress levels prior to the op.
When the day of Cainâs operation arrives, son Kyle Winchester (Huey Quinn) cannot help but panic about what may happen while his dad is in theatre. Fortunately, Cain learns afterwards that the surgery was a success. Heâs quickly faced with a problem though, as heâs confronted with the reality of his catheter.

Worried about potential permanent incontinence, Cain pretends to be in further pain to delay getting discharged.
Moira realises what Cain is doing, and sends Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) to have a word. Sarahâs comments are enough to prompt Cain to head home but when he gets back, he struggles to recuperate.
Later, when Cain senses an awkward vibe between Moira, Robert and Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller), he eventually discovers from his wife that Robert planted the ID cards at Butlerâs.

In true Cain style, he gets to work plotting revenge, and later asks Sam for a favour
The next day, Robert is attacked from behind and knocked unconscious by Sam. He wakes up tied to a chair and faces a brooding Cain, who is holding a hammer.
He demands that Robert pays for his actions â but how far is Cain going to go?
Will Sam see sense and stop his brother before it is too late?
