Emmerdale could be bringing back an evil villain in a major Dr Todd twist.
Dr Todd (Caroline Harker) has been making medical student Jacob Sugden’s (Joe-Warren Plant) work a living nightmare in recent weeks. As well as pushing him to his absolute limits, Dr Todd also been gaslighting him, and calling him out over his mistakes.
Last week though, it was revealed that Dr Todd’s dementia-stricken father was in hospital and not very well. Dr Todd and Jacob appeared to bond in that moment, with the doctor also revealing she had a wife at home offering a rare personal insight into her life.
However, in Tuesday’s episode (April 7) things took a dramatic turn when Dr Todd’s father went into cardiac arrest. With no one around, Jacob gave him CPR – despite him being marked as DNR (Do not resuscitate).

But when Dr Todd found out about this she was livid, and called out Jacob for performing CPR on her father. She even told him that he doesn’t have what it takes to be a doctor, before ordering him to go home.
But now, fans reckon a major return twist is in store as they have predicted Dr Todd’s sister is none other than Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein).

Fans will recall Maya groomed Jacob when he was a teenager, with Maya sleeping with him shortly after his 16th birthday. Maya’s predatory behaviour ended with her arrest, and subsequent imprisonment, but she got an early release from jail in 2019.
“Dr Todd playing mind games with Jacob, still reckon Mad Maya is her sister hence revenge,” mused one person on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page. Someone else added: “Maya’s sister here for revenge.” A third chimed in: “Bet she’s Maya’s sister.”

Meanwhile speaking about Dr Todd’s return, Caroline Harker commented: “I’m delighted to be back at Emmerdale for a longer stint playing Doctor Todd.
“She’s a complex character and from what I’ve been told so far, quite a tricky one for Jacob to navigate.”
The talented actress added: “Workplace bullying is commonplace, and it will be interesting to see it brought to our screens in a serial drama such as Emmerdale.”
