Emmerdale fans believe they’ve worked out Ray Walters’ k.i.l.l.e.r in a huge Bear Wolf twist. Regular soap viewers will recall that last year, drug dealer Ray (Joe Absolom) and his wicked mother, Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), were orchestrating several illicit activities in the village. They notably ensnared young April Windsor (Amelia Flanagan) and Dylan Penders (Fred Kettle) into their drug-dealing scheme, while also holding Bear (Joshua Richards) hostage on their farm, along with numerous other captives.

As her world began to unravel, Celia instructed her son to k.i.l.l April, while she would “take care of Bear”. However, Ray defied his mother’s orders and ended up fatally stabbing her in their kitchen, before meeting a similar end himself shortly after. Ray’s corpse was notably seen being hauled through the village, just before last week’s Corriedale crossover. The identity of his k.i.l.l.e.r remains unknown, but Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and Jai Sharma (Chris Bisson) have been interrogated by the police this week.

In Friday’s episode (January 16), now available for streaming on ITVX, all attention was focused on Jai as he entered the Woolpack. In a tense moment, the depot worker quickly accused April and Dylan of k.i.l.l.i.n.g Ray, before storming out of the pub, reports the Daily Star.

Meanwhile, Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) embarked on a fruitless quest to locate his father. Upon returning to Tenant House, he took a call from his wife, Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley), who is currently assisting her cousin Tina (Samantha Power) in Ireland. Despite Mandy’s offer to come back and be there for her husband, Paddy insisted: “Mandy, you don’t need to do that, we’re good. Well, not good obviously, but we’ve got each other’s backs. We have to go back out to look for [Bear], we’re going to carry on searching.”

However, after ending the call, Paddy found himself battling to keep his composure. Later, whilst April received comfort from her relatives, the discussion turned towards speculation regarding Ray’s k.i.l.l.e.r. The residents started questioning who was truly behind the m.u.r.d.e.r, with it becoming apparent that everyone harbours secrets.

Now, certain Emmerdale viewers suspect that Paddy may be concealing more secrets than others, with many theorising he could have m.u.r.de.r.e.d Ray whilst away from the village recently. Furthermore, some fans also speculate that Bear might actually be alive, potentially lying low in Ireland alongside Mandy.

“I find it strange that Paddy was missing on a training course for so long on the day everything kicked off. Let’s hope it wasn’t a training course and he was taking Bear to be with Mandy and coming back and k.i.l.l.i.n.g Ray,” one viewer posted on a Facebook fan page.

Another responded: “I definitely like this scenario,” whilst a third concurred: “Me too!” A fourth viewer shared similar thoughts, commenting: “Very good idea… let’s hope so. It would be great for Paddy to get retribution for what Ray and Celia did to Bear, and surely Bear isn’t d.e.a.d? They can’t have k.i.l.l.e.d him off screen.”

Next week’s Emmerdale episodes will centre entirely on Ray’s mysterious d.e.a.t.h, with each instalment featuring flashbacks from the fatal day, exposing what each suspect was actually doing when Ray met his end. But who truly committed the crime?

Emmerdale airs weekday nights at 8pm on ITV1 and STV, and Coronation Street airs weekday nights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and STV as part of ITV’s new soap power hour scheduling pattern for Coronation Street and Emmerdale
