EastEnders icon fuels return rumours as he’s pictured with cast member in sweet reunion
Some EastEnders fans think Sean Slater could make a return to Albert Square along with his on-screen sister, Stacey Slater, as the actors appeared together for the first time in four years
An EastEnders legend has fuelled return rumours as he was pictured with Lacey Turner in a sweet reunion snap.
Lacey, who plays Walford icon Stacey Slater, appeared in the photo shared by Robert Kazinsky, her on-screen brother, Sean Slater. Robert shared the sweet snap on Instagram despite Lacey taking a brief break from filming. Posting the selfie on Instagram, Robert captioned the post: “Love from Brazil (seriously who’s idea was that?)
“Like time never passes with the best of the best. @laceyturner”. On screen, Stacey set off to join Sean in Brazil and took up a job working with him, leaving behind her mum Jean Slater, daughter Lily Slater and granddaughter Charli Slater.
The pair were both smiling wide in the selfie as they put their arms around each other. This snap marked their first appearance together in almost four years.
Fans were quick to suggest that Robert might return for to the soap soon. His last appearance was in 2022, but he did briefly make another cameo via a video call with his family.
Underneath his post, one fan wrote: “Can we please bring Stacey & Sean back together?” Another said: “Love to see you and Lacey back in EastEnders”.
A third noted: “Oh this makes my heart happy long live the slater siblings”.
Lacey left love heart emojis in the comment section, as did Max Branning actor Jake Wood – which caused further speculation with fans.
A fan noted this and questioned: “Oscar looks more like Sean than max maybe a new story coming?!!!”
This year will mark two decades since Sean appeared for the first time in Walford in 2006. As of yet, BBC have not revealed whether there are any plans for Sean to come back, but fans appear hopeful.
This comes as Lacey has been enjoying a break from the show. The actress embarked on the “extended break” from Albert Square to concentrate on her family life, including her three young children, as well as pursuing other ventures.
During her ongoing hiatus from the programme, Lacey has marked a milestone moment as her youngest child, Gipsy, has celebrated her first birthday. She’s also mother to her six-year-old daughter Dusty and four-year-old son Trilby, whom she shares with her husband Matt Kay.
Posting on Instagram on Tuesday (January 13), Lacey uploaded an adorable compilation of snapshots featuring her daughter, set to Fleetwood Mac’s 1982 classic Gypsy.
Her caption declared: “This is ONE!! A whole year of you baby! Today and everyday we celebrate you!!! (and your funny face). Love you forever and ever.”
Several EastEnders co-stars sent their well wishes.
