Lauren Branning is set for big drama EastEnders in 2026 and 2027, as revealed in a new flashforward episode.
While the episode mainly focused on her father Max Branning, Jacqueline Jossa’s character Lauren was revealed to be in trouble. Max alluded that he knew what she was up to, before dramatic scenes unfolded.
Max had seen Lauren from his flat window, with her appearing to cry and she was also angry, taking it out on the gate of her home. Prior to this, Lauren had gone to check in on Jack Branning amid some mysterious circumstances surrounding her uncle and his family.
He was drinking heavily and his wife Denise Fox has apparently stormed out, while his children were a no-show. There were hints to something bad having happened, and Lauren urging him to get back on track.

As she left, she’d received a message on her phone that asked her to meet someone “in the usual place”. So clearly she’s been secretly meeting up with someone for a while.
Could it be an affair? A dodgy dealing? Is she in cahoots with someone? With talks of people being caught up in things, Max told Lauren not to preach at him, because he “knew what she had been doing”.
Lauren was rattled, but told her dad she didn’t know what he was talking about. Max saw right through this though, and told her: “Well I think we do.”
She hit back, saying: “What I do with my life ain’t got nothing to do with you.” Soon she made a phone call, while later there was a text message telling her: “It’s make up your mind time.”
So what is going on with Lauren? Viewers think they know what she’s hiding and guessed it was an affair. One fan posted: “What has Lauren been doing? Cheating? If so, who with?”

Another wrote: “The only good thing to come out of tonight’s episode was Lauren having an affair, so proud of her.” A third added: “Who is Lauren having her way with?” as a fourth said: “Lauren affair?”
It comes as fans think they know who the pregnant woman is in Max’s bed. Max was seen waking up in the year 2027. As he rolled over, there was a woman also waking up, but her identity was covered.
She had a baby bump though which she was caressing, and the camera then panned to a baby scan as well as pregnancy supplements. After a recent random scene this week on the BBC soap, fans think it was a major hint at what was ahead.
With so much more to be explained, it hasn’t stopped fans thinking Chelsea Fox is the pregnant character in Max’s bed. Just days ago she suggested she found him attractive, so fans think this was the clue that she would be the woman.
