The popular BBC detective drama has become one of the biggest hits on television for the broadcaster, pulling in millions of viewers since launching in 2011.
Don Gilet returns as DI Mervin Wilson in this year’s Christmas special episode, which hits screens on Sunday evening (December 28). Wilson will find himself at the centre of a festive investigation after a dead body is found in a pool, but the murder weapon is found in a locked drawer thousands of miles away from the crime scene…
The 90-minute special episode will be a welcome return to Saint Marie for fans of the show. The episode will air at 8.30pm on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Sunday, December 28.

When is Dᴇᴀᴛʜ In Paradise back for season 15?
The BBC confirmed that its hit series would be returning for a 15th season, but as of yet it has not confirmed when the new installment will be hitting screens.
However, we can take a look at the release schedule of previous seasons to give us an idea of when we might see DI Wilson and his team back on the BBC. Filming for the new series took place in Guadalupe in spring 2025.
This means that Dᴇᴀᴛʜ In Paradise season 15 is expected to air at some point in early 2026. Previous seasons have aired as early as the first week of January, however others begun in the first week of February.
Don Gilet will return in the main role for the new series of Dᴇᴀᴛʜ In Paradise, with stars such as Shanton Jackson as Naomi Thomas, Ginny Holder as Darlene Curtis, Shaquille Ali-Yebuah as Sebastian Rose and Élizabeth Bourgine as Catherine Bordey unconfirmed but likely to return.
Fans were shocked when long-running star Don Warrington departed Saint Marie in the season 14 finale after his character, Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, declined the offer of his job back. Whether he will make a return to the show in early 2026 remains to be seen, but fans will be hoping to see more of the beloved character on their screens soon.
