One Emmerdale star has revealed who could bring down villain Celia Daniels on the ITV soap, even teasing a m.u.r.d.e.r twist.

Louise Jameson, who plays Mary Goskirk, features in emotional scenes this week. But speaking exclusively to The Mirror, she shared the truth about Celia could finally be exposed, and may lead to her downfall.

Remaining coy over where the storyline leads next amid an exit for Celia being confirmed, Louise suggested one character in particular should be the one to trigger the villain’s downfall. That said, she reckons her character would k.i.l.l Celia if she knew what was really going on.

Heartbreaking scenes have shown Mary’s daughter Rhona Goskirk trying to get her away from the village to protect her. Rhona, husband Marlon and Marlon’s teen daughter April are all caught up in Celia and her son Ray Walters’ dodgy dealings.

Rhona and Marlon, and April, have effectively been silenced, but Louise reckons if anyone is to bring down Celia, it should be Marlon. She explained: “I can’t say what is coming up and how it resolves but if it was my call, as a writer or producer, I’d probably have Marlon somehow involved in her downfall.”

Louise also reckons Mary would k.i.l.l to protect her family. She shared: “I think she’d k.i.l.l if she had to. She wouldn’t think twice, she’d find a gun, do some stalking, she’d be prepared to d.i.e and k.i.l.l.

“I really think she has that mother lion in her.” With harsh scenes seeing Rhona lie to Mary about what was happening, Rhona told Mary that they as a family needed their own space, saying it was crowded with her there.

She claimed the only option was for Mary to move out, but Mary wasn’t buying Rhona’s claims and kept pushing for answers. Rhona suddenly verbally lashed out at her mum, calling her “overbearing”.

Rhona told her they were all sick of her and wanted her gone. Mary was left hurt and agreed to leave, declaring she would be gone first thing the following day – but will Mary really leave the village for good?

Louise teased: “You are left with a cliffhanger of if she’s gonna go or stay, and if she will forgive them or not. It’s tragic. It breaks Mary’s heart.” Asked if she hoped Mary and Rhona would fix things, she shared: “I certainly do hope so because I love working here!

“It’s the longest job I’ve ever had in 54 years. I adore it.” There could be more dark scenes ahead though before it’s all over. She shared: “I think it is quite dark ahead.

“It would be lovely to see some high comedy moments, hopefully we’ll get a few laughs in at some point as it’s really important. It’s like red beside green, the comedy beside the tragedy, makes a spotlight on both.”
