Dá´á´á´Ę in Paradise star Sally Bretton wasnât thrilled about leaving the BBC series behind for its spin-off Beyond Paradise. The actress â who shot to fame alongside Lee Mack in sitcom Not Going Out before landing her drama role â had to wrap up filming in the Caribbean to ship down to the fictional town of Shipton Abbott in Devon â filmed in real-life Cornwall.
She admitted on This Morning that she had an âamazing timeâ overseas, telling the ITV hosts: âI was only out there for four or five weeks. I didn’t get any of the hurricanes, I got it at just the perfect time. I had an amazing time.â

She added to iN10: âItâs a fantastic job. Kris has been doing it for years and he was out there for much longer than I was, but itâs sheer heaven. Itâs gorgeous, the most wonderful place. I had enough downtime to hire a car and have a good look round the island.â
Speaking about the success of the BBC show, she said: âItâs just the perfect tonic. The storyline carries you through, itâs not stressful or anxious and thereâs a nice bit of humour. It looks beautiful and it feels good for you. Thatâs certainly the way I feel when I watch it.â
It comes as Ralf Little explained his decision to bow out of the BBC show after five series as Detective Inspector Neville Parker. The star confessed while he wanted to do â20 more yearsâ on the programme, the final series was âalways going to be his lastâ.
He told BBC Breakfast: âI spoke to the BBC and Red Planet, the production company, and we all agreed. If it was just a heart decision I would have wanted to do it for 20 more years. But just for the show and for my character Neville it just sort of felt like his story was finished and his journey deserved to be completed. He deserved a happy ending and it just felt right.â
