Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Season 9 Episode 3 Review: Having Faith

SISTERS Season 9 Episode 3: “Having Faith” — Full Review

Okay, Sisters fans. Let’s talk about Season 9, Episode 3, titled Having Faith. If you follow me on Twitter or tuned into the livestream right after the episode aired, you already know I mostly enjoyed it.

But let me be real with y’all — those first 10 minutes? BRUTAL. Sabrina Hollands was working my last effing nerve. Around the 9:27 mark, I was like, “Yep, this episode’s about to get a 5 or 6 out of 10 from me.”

Thankfully, the episode pulled through. The good — no, the stupendous — parts definitely outweighed the nonsense. So I ended up giving it a solid 8/10.

Would’ve been a 10 if Sabrina didn’t fumble the bag.

The BET Article: What’s Real and What’s Not

Every week, BET drops an article previewing the next episode. Last week, the article said Karen would be mourning the loss of one twin but holding her surviving baby, named Faith.

But nope — that wasn’t what happened. She held the stillborn baby and named her Forever Taylor instead. So… BET, please get your own spoilers right.

Also, for those asking, “How did they know it was Zach’s baby that passed?” — it was stated clearly: They did a test as soon as the babies were born. That’s how they knew. If you missed it, hey, no judgment. I’ve missed obvious stuff before too. But it was there.

Chaos in the Hospital

The episode kicks off with Andy and Sabrina screaming for help instead of doing the logical thing: RUN OUT THE ROOM or press the panic button. But considering the mess this hospital has been, maybe screaming actually was more effective.

Dr. Vaughn comes in, declares a Code Blue, and it’s go-time for an emergency C-section. But Sabrina and Andy… still just stand there like deer in headlights. WHY.

Eventually, they get out. Andy remains the calm one. Sabrina? Not so much. She keeps saying she has to go back in. Girl, sit your ass down. You’re not helping. Thankfully, Fatima and Danny talk some sense into her.

Miss Lisa Enters the Chat

When the nurse shows up asking for Karen’s next of kin, everyone panics. Miss Lisa appears just in time and is asked if Karen has a medical will. She’s told they may need CPR clearance — and you can just feel her heartbreak.

Fatima steps up and says she’ll go find Zach. This is when we really start to feel the weight of the situation.

Andy Snaps (And I Loved It)

Andy corners Dr. Cruz and delivers one of the most badass lines:

“If anything happens to my friend, you’ll be lucky to serve coffee in this hospital.”

Cruz claps back, saying Karen is no longer his patient. But still, I loved seeing Andy being the lawyer we know she can be — no Gary, no drama. Just competence.

Sabrina vs. Common Sense (Again)

Then we shift to Danny and Sabrina talking. Danny tries to calm her down with some therapy wisdom — even referencing Kusha. Then Sabrina drops the bomb: she saw Rich hooking up with Penelope.

But let’s rewind: she broke up with him in Season 8! Girl, why are you mad?! You can’t dump someone and then act shocked they moved on. Stop playing.

Danny calls her out and later goes in on Rich when he calls. She even threatens to call the health department on his juice bar antics. I laughed, not gonna lie. But girl, haven’t you ruined enough careers this month? Chill.

The Prayer That Hit Different

Fatima finds Zach, and honestly, THIS is the Zatima we’ve been missing. She calms him down, supports him, tells him not to let his emotions get the best of him. Pure gold.

Then Zach and Aaron team up for a prayer before going into Karen’s room. Aaron starts — but chokes up. Zach steps in with a prayer so powerful it had folks feeling like they were in church on a Wednesday night. That scene? Chef’s kiss. Easily the best moment of the episode.

The Moment of Truth

Miss Lisa convinces the doctors to let her in with the guys — classic Miss Lisa energy.

Meanwhile, back in the waiting room, Danny asks a legit question about which baby survived, and the girls act like she kicked a puppy. Chill — she was just asking. The hate Danny gets for speaking facts is unreal sometimes.

They eventually hug it out and reflect on their history. Flashbacks to earlier seasons? Yes, please. Felt like a full-circle moment.

Karen’s Heartbreaking Goodbye

We finally get the update. Karen is alive. She’s in pain, physically and emotionally. She asks if she can see the baby who didn’t make it — and they all agree to go together.

She holds the baby, says, “She’s got my nose,” and Danny jokes, “She got Zach’s big ol’ forehead too.”

The name? Forever Taylor.
And I swear, tears. Absolute tears.

Final Thoughts

A deeply emotional episode that hit on all cylinders — strong writing, stronger acting. Hats off to Ebony, Deval, and the entire cast.

I still don’t get why the writers are dragging some of these storylines out, but I’ll save that rant for another day.

Next week? It’s all about adjusting to the new normal. Let’s see how long that lasts.
