Emmerdale ‘to bring back’ legend to take over The Woolpack and Charity will be fuming
Emmerdale fans are convinced that a former soap legend is heading back to the village take over the iconic boozer The Woolpack
But whispers among the fanbase suggest that a change of ownership is on the horizon, with a beloved character poised for a comeback, reportsĀ Belfast Live.
As devotees will remember, Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) are set to tie the knot following their recent engagement.
Yet unbeknownst to Gabby, Vinny is wrestling with his feelings after a close encounter with his mate Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah).
Adding to the intrigue, reports last month indicated that Gabby’s mother, Bernice Blackstock (Samantha Giles), would be returning for the nuptials.
Now, the rumour mill is churning with predictions that Bernice’s reappearance could signal her taking over as the new landlady of The Woolpack. An Emmerdale Facebook fan page even featured a comment saying: “Can’t wait until Bernice is back I missed her.”
Another fan chimed in, expressing eagerness for the writers: “Hopefully they give her a good storyline.”
A third person suggested a major change for the character: “She should take over The Woolpack.”
One viewer also shared their excitement: “I would love that, she might come back with loads of money and Charity could find herself needing to sell because of Sarah or something.”
Meanwhile, another expressed a future hope for the pub: “Yes! It’s about time it had a new owner.”
Bernice first graced our screens in 1998 and quickly won the hearts of the audience. Fans last saw her bittersweet departure in 2023, when she decided to embark on a new chapter in Portugal.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
EmmerdaleĀ viewers are buzzing with speculation that a soap icon might be making a grand return to the village to take the helm at The Woolpack.
The pub, an emblematic fixture in the soap world, has been at the heart of the show’s drama throughout its 53-year tenure on our screens.
Throughout the decades, a host of familiar faces have poured pints and called time at this legendary bar, from stalwarts like Amos Brearly (Ronald Magill) and Diane Sugden (Elizabeth Estensen), to Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) and Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler).
At present, Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) and her son Ryan (James Moore) are the proud proprietors, having secured the establishment at an auction last year.
