Emmerdale return ‘sealed’ for icon after 9 years ‘to help Robert take down John’
Emmerdale fans are convinced they know who will help Robert Sugden take down his k.i.l.l.e.r brother, John - and it's a familiar face

Emmerdale viewers reckon they’ve sussed out who will assist Robert Sugden in his mission to expose his brother John, and it’s a face we all recognise.
John (played by Oliver Farnworth) made quite the entrance into the Dales last year, claiming to be the long-lost son of Jack Sugden (portrayed by Clive Hornby). He quickly left his mark on the locals.
The enigmatic doctor found his place in the village while getting acquainted with his distant family members, including his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins). In a whirlwind romance, he even tied the knot with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
However, what the villagers are oblivious to is that John is harbouring numerous dark secrets, including the fact that he m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) last year and disposed of his body in a nearby lake.
John believed he had successfully covered up his heinous crime, but Nate’s body was eventually found. Keeping a low profile, John then proceeded to frame Nate’s wife Tracy (Amy Walsh), reports Belfast Live.
Meanwhile, Robert (Ryan Hawley) recently made a dramatic return after six years. After being released from prison, he moved in with his sister Victoria in the village, hoping to rebuild his life.
Convinced that his brother John is concealing something, Robert is also resolved to unmask the secret m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r, whilst attempting to rekindle his relationship with his ex-partner Aaron.
Now, fans are speculating that it will be a former soap icon who will aid Robert in outing John: Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher), his other brother.
“If Andy Sugden did come back whose side would he be on? Robert’s or John’s since Andy and Robert never did have the best brother relationship,” one viewer pondered.
Another fan added: “I really think Andy would be team Rob. Definitely if it came down to saving or protecting one over the other. Would LOVE to see this happen – Ryan and Kelvin were FANTASTIC together.”
Long-time viewers will remember that Andy was a soap icon, first gracing our screens in 1996 before leaving the village in 2016.
During his tenure on the show, Andy found himself at the centre of many dramatic storylines. After enduring years of upheaval, Andy chose to flee the village amidst chaos in 2016 with a counterfeit passport supplied by Robert – and he hasn’t been spotted since.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
