Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Season 9 Episode 8 Review: Truth Is

Tyler Perry’s Sistas Season 9, Episode 8 Review – “Truth Is”

Season 9, Episode 8 of Sistas might go down as one of the most divisive episodes yet. Fans are buzzing, debates are raging, and all eyes are on one person: Fatima.

Why? Because she dropped what might be the coldest line in the history of the show.

Fatima’s Shocking Confession

“I hate that Karen lost a baby. I wouldn’t wish that on anybody. But… part of me was relieved when I found out it was Zach’s.”

That’s the line that sent social media into overdrive. Some fans call it heartless. Others say Fatima simply spoke out loud what many have secretly thought for months.

Her honesty made sense, but the delivery? Brutal. And the biggest question isn’t what she said — it’s who she said it to.

Instead of confiding in Angela, Fatima told Danny — someone deeply connected to Karen’s circle. And that choice might come back to haunt her.

Zach at His Worst

If Fatima had one of her rawest moments, Zach had one of his worst.

After last week’s emotional “closure” with Karen, you’d think he’d come home with a lighter heart. Instead, he shut down completely with Fatima, shutting her out, refusing intimacy, and making unilateral decisions about their baby’s future — like bringing in a midwife and declaring there’d be no hospitals involved.

The problem? He never once asked Fatima what she wanted. For many fans, this was peak insensitivity — and it’s putting Zatima on shaky ground.

Karen’s Neglect

Meanwhile, Karen hit another low. When the baby cried in the middle of the night, she ignored it, leaving Aaron to handle everything. She even turned off the baby monitor.

Last week hinted at progress between Karen and Zach. This week erased all of it, painting her as a mother still drowning in grief — or worse, refusing responsibility.

Sabrina, Maurice & Paige Bring the Comedy

On the lighter side, Maurice and Paige unexpectedly stole the show. Their banter (plus Paige’s brother Dylan) gave us comic relief in an otherwise heavy episode. Some fans are even calling for a spin-off — a wild thought, but proof that their chemistry works.

As for Sabrina? Still stuck in frustrating storylines — bouncing between bad choices in men, playing the victim, and nearly bringing another stranger home. It’s messy, but at least Maurice and Paige kept things entertaining.

Andy & Dr. Vaughn

Andy’s “date” with Dr. Vaughn quickly turned into business talk. She pushed the lawsuit angle, catching him completely off guard. His reveal about never dating Black women added another layer of tension — but Andy didn’t press him too hard.

Fans are split: was she smart to challenge him, or reckless for jeopardizing someone who’s helped her friends?

The Ending That Broke the Internet

The episode closed with Fatima’s raw confession to Danny. Zach, standing on the stairs, overheard everything.

He walked away without a word. Fatima realized too late.

And just like that, Sistas left us with one of the most explosive cliffhangers of the season.

Final Thoughts

Episode 8 didn’t show the cast at their best — far from it. Karen ignored her baby. Sabrina spiraled deeper. Danny wrestled with Tony. And Zach? Possibly the worst version of himself yet.

But all of that pales compared to Fatima’s line — the moment that will define this episode. Cold? Maybe. Honest? Absolutely.

Now the only question is: what happens when Zach confronts her about it?
