Emmerdale’s Mackenzie ‘is still alive’ as real identity of d.e.a.d body in van ‘unveiled’
Emmerdale's Mackenzie Boyd was seemingly m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d by John Sugden - but fans are certain he is still alive
Emmerdale fans are convinced that Mackenzie Boyd isn’t actually d.e.a.d.
The character, played by Lawrence Robb, has been a staple on the ITV soap since 2020. And over the years, he’s played a part in several big storylines.
Especially at the moment, as this week, he made a shocking discovery about secret k.i.l.l.e.r John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth). As fans will recall John m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter ) last year and dumped his body into a lake.
He then managed to cover his track by framing Owen Michaels (Simon Haines). However, earlier this week, Mack – who has previously shared his doubts and concerns about mysterious John – rummaged through John’s belongings and managed to connect the dots, realising he had k.i.l.l.e.d Nate.
In Thursday’s episode (August 21) released early on ITVX, John clocked that Mack worked everything out. A tense showdown then took place in the woods, in which John chased Mack armed with a crossbow.
John managed to shoot down Mack and the arrow went straight through his chest. Still alive but wounded, Mack was cornered by John who found a giant rock and threw it down, seemingly k.i.l.l.i.n.g Mack.
Meanwhile later on in the village, after John and Aaron Dingle’s (Danny Miller) farewell party finished, John noticed blood dripping down the door of his van. He quickly headed over and wiped away the evidence.
Viewers were then shown a body, presumably Mack’s, covered in a blanket in the back of his van, with blood dropping down and flies buzzing around it. However, fans are certain that the d.e.a.d body in the van isn’t actually Mackenzie – and they have ‘proof’.
On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, one person wrote: “Surely Mack has to be alive?” Someone else added: “We didn’t see proof of d.e.a.t.h. I need that before I’ll believe it!” A third chimed in: “I think John is keeping him hostage and didn’t actually go ahead with k.i.l.l.i.n.g him.”
Another person claimed the d.e.a.d body could be (Macaulay Cooper) who has been terrorising Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson). They wrote: “Maybe it’s that Mike, the one who attacked Vinny?”
Meanwhile other viewers pointed out that the flies buzzing around the d.e.a.d body could indicate that the person has been d.e.a.d for a long time. They declared: “It’s not Mack. That body has been d.e.a.d for a while because of the flies.” Another said: “I thought the same.”
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
