This missing Emmerdale character is finally returning after a long break
Fans have been wondering when he'd return.

Emmerdale star Alfie Clarke will reprise his role as Arthur Thomas.
Notably absent in recent months, the actor has been off-screen for most of the year, having only appeared in four episodes.
Clarke, who has been posting about his travels around the US lately, confirmed that he was back in England this week.
Taking to Instagram, the TV star shared photos from what appeared to be the Emmerdale set. “Missed filming,” he penned in the caption.
Currently, details surrounding Clarke’s return are limited, however, the soap has continued to mention his character, as well as Arthur’s friendship with April Windsor.
Back in July, Arthur’s mum Laurel told April that some of her son’s clothes had gone missing from her washing line, surmising that there was a “thief in the village”.
“Arthur is not going to be best pleased,” Laurel continued. “Would you mind giving him a call because I know he’s giving you a bit of space, but he does miss you, love.”
Later in the episode, April realised that it was Dylan Penders who had stolen the clothes, and after sitting down to talk, called him out for wearing Arthur’s tracksuit bottoms.
During their conversation, Dylan promised that he’d turned his life around after rehab, noting that he’d secured a stable job, but what April didn’t realise was that Dylan had recently broken into Butler’s Farm.
In episodes set to air next week (25-29 August), Dylan and April will encounter some new challenges in their blossoming relationship. After learning that Paddy and Marlon have heard all about his past, a humiliated Dylan struggles to get past April’s betrayal. Following a heartfelt chat with Paddy, however, Dylan tells Ray that he wants to take a break from the drug drops.
While it’s unknown how or when Arthur will return, when he does, the character may get some insight into the drama between April and Dylan. Looks like we’ll have to wait and see what’s in store for Arthur.
Emmerdale airs on weeknights at 7.30pm on ITV1, and streams on ITVX.
