It’s been a tumultuous time for Nicola King on Emmerdale. Just last week, Nicola lost her husband Jimmy King after he tragically died following a car crash and explosion during Dawn Taylor and Joe Tate’s wedding. Following the incident, Dawn also sadly died.

Just when things couldn’t get any worse for Nicola, Jimmy’s ex-wife Sadie King showed up in the village via helicopter with a huge bombshell. Sadie claimed that she had been seeing Jimmy for the past three years in an explosive affair, thinking that he had split from Nicola.

Nicola has been left both floored and suspicious over Sadie’s claims. However, Sadie has since provided details of her life which she could only have learned from Jimmy himself. It comes as Patsy Kensit makes her highly-anticipated return as the formidable Sadie.

Talking about the explosive return of Sadie and what fans can expect coming up, Nicola star Nicola Wheeler told This Morning’s soap expert Sharon Marshall: “I think you can expect fireworks, but not celebratory fireworks. Possibly there might be a little connection.

“They have got something in common. I’m going to be a bit cryptic, but…” to which Sharon asked: “They’re not getting them two together, are they?”

To which Nicola further teased: “You might expect them to be enemies, but maybe they’ll become frenemies…”

It comes as Emmerdale fans got a blast from the past on Wednesday as Sadie returned to the village via a helicopter.

As Nicola, Laurel Thomas and Charity Dingle paid their respects to Jimmy at the scene of the crash, which killed him last week, Sadie arrived via helicopter disturbing the peace.

Sadie wasted no time making her presence felt, laying a single red rose at the site of Jimmy’s crash. The character, who once brought gold digging schemes, explosive affairs, and elaborate betrayals to the village, left the locals floored with her return.

First introduced in 2004, Sadie moved to Emmerdale alongside then husband Jimmy, who she married in 1990, and the rest of the King family. Much like her 2026 return, Sadie made her first appearance via a helicopter.

After an explosive time in the village full of affairs, blackmail, family backstabbing and kidnaps, Sadie was last seen on the ITV soap in 2006.
