EastEnders star reveals he and wife are are set to welcome their first child as he shares sweet reveal video
EASTENDERS star Matt Lapinskas has revealed he and his wife are set to become parents for the first time in a sweet announcement video.
The actor, who played Anthony Moon from 2011-2012, and was in Hollyoaks in 2023 as Alex Ramsdan, said his family was growing by one as he revealed his wife Karina Hind is expecting.
Matt, 37, posted a clip of him and Karina with a pair of white baby boots and a picture of their baby scan.
He penned: “Our greatest role yet… coming 2027,” with heart and tear face emoji.
“After a long time hoping, dreaming and wishing for this moment, our little miracle is finally on the way.
“Our hearts are completely full, and we feel incredibly blessed to be stepping into our new roles as Mum & Dad.
“Life has always been an adventure, but this next chapter is one we’ve dreamed of more than anything.
“We can’t wait to meet you, little one.
“The Lapinskas family is growing by one. Our next role begins in 2027…”
Matt’s on-screen brother Tony Discipline commented: “Amazing news,” with a heart.
The actor’s pal and former X Factor star Amelia Lily wrote: “Congratulations guys! So so happy for you both.”
Last March, Matt and Karina tied the knot at stunning venue Hedsor House in Buckinghamshire.
Matt revealed in 2024 that he had successfully proposed to fellow actress Karina in Dubai.
Ahead of their nuptials, Matt paid tribute to Karina on Instagram with a series of photos of the happy pair.
“Tomorrow I get to marry my best friend! My past my present and my future, I will be so proud to say ‘I do’ you have taught me what love truly is,” he wrote.
“I love you! Can’t wait to celebrate with all those we love bring on the party Karina, let’s do this see you tomorrow future Mrs Lapinskas x“
The Dancing On Ice alum pulled out all the stops when he proposed to his then-girlfriend for an evening walk in early 2024.
He headed out to the sandy beaches of Dubai at night with the city’s famous skyline behind them and firstly pulled out a letter for his love before getting down on one knee.
Karina, who works as a stage actress and is currently starring in Matilda the Musical, was clearly stunned, covering her face with her hands.
He previously opened up on his exit from the BBC soap.
In an exclusive chat with The Sun, he claimed he was brutally sacked – then asked to lie about it.
In an episode of Soap From The Box podcast, Matt said: “When Lorraine Newman came in I went up to have a meeting with her and she told me they weren’t renewing my contract.
“I was like, ‘Oh. Ok’. We went to an awards ceremony the next couple of days, someone said to me and Tony [Discipline] (who played Tyler Moon), because we always used to do interviews together, ‘The Moon boys have taken the Square by storm, we can’t wait to see what’s next for you’.
“But I’d been told I wasn’t allowed to say that I was leaving.
“So it was a moment of like, ‘Oh… it’s going to be good!’.”
