Pregnant Penny is rushed to hospital in critical condition after a serious accident.

The wellbeing of Penny Branning (Kitty Castledine) and her unborn child is the subject of much concern in EastEnders next week when she is rushed to hospital.
Penny, as viewers know, is bust preparing for her exciting new chapter with boyfriend Vinny Panesar (Shiv Jalota), with the couple set to become parents.
In addition to expecting a baby, she is also super eager to get her shop up and running. Vinny, however, fears she is taking on too much and is determined to get Penny to focus on the baby– but it’s clear that she’s consumed with shop preparation.
Vinny is left upset and later Penny clocks this, agreeing to attend an antenatal class. But the conflict between the to continues into next week as, on the day of the shop opening, Vinny grows concerned about Penny’s swollen leg and encourages her to go to the doctors.
Fed up of his fussing, Penny orders him to leave.

Left with food for thought, Penny heads to the shop in time for its grand opening but on the way to the premises she struggles to breathe.
Max Branning (Jake Wood) and Priya Nandra-Hart (Sophie Khan Levy) spot her distress and waste little time in rushing her to the hospital.
Will Penny and the baby be okay?
It’s been a tough few months for Penny, who isn’t quite sure who the father of her unborn baby is.

Though she has been dating Vinny for months, she subsequently revealed that she and ex Harry Mitchell (Elijah Holloway) had a very brief dalliance before Christmas.
With her best mate Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) now in a relationship with Harry, Penny decided to keep shtum about the possibility of her friend’s beau being her baby’s dad to prevent both Gina and Vinny from having their hearts broken.
