Emmerdale star Jack Downham has bid a final farewell to the ITV soap, 17 years after his debut.
Jack – who played Noah Dingle on Emmerdale – has said his goodbyes to the show, nearly two decades after he first appeared on the programme. His character was seen departing the village in scenes that aired last night as he moved to Germany.
Now, Jack has reflected on his time on the show, describing the Dales as a “beautiful place to work” before sharing some pictures of his time on the show, including an old snap of him with Charity Dingle star Emma Atkins.
Taking to Instagram, he wrote: “Noah Dingle over & out. What a bloody beautiful place to have worked for 17 years! My first day on set! What. A. Trim. Read the room lad… Why am I dressed as a piano.”

Referencing more of the photos, he added: “Little stint in prison for Noah in his wilderness years. A thorn between two roses… or something like that. Suited and booted,” before ending the post with “R.I.P Noah”.
During his time on the show, he was involved in some big storylines, including a terrifying one which saw his character stalk Chloe. He stole her phone, journal and her keys and was later jailed for three months for pleading guilty to the stalking and harassment.
Discussing his character’s headline-grabbing storyline and worried he wasn’t a redeemable character, he said: “Right now, I don’t think there’s anywhere back unless he gets serious help and has a serious few conversations with people about mindset and the way you just think about women and how you act around women.
“With his past around girls and how he’s not really acted in the right ways around girls in the past and with his mum, Charity, and her very interesting relationships throughout him growing up, I think it’s all had a really negative effect on his view on women and how he should act around women. I think he’s really got it all wrong.”

A number of stars have departed – or are soon to depart the show in the coming months. A source revealed of Jack’s departure that he is “looking at the positives though and is hopeful about future opportunities”.
So far, it has been reported that Bradley Johnson – who plays Vinny Dingle – is leaving, as well as Nick Miles, who stars as Jimmy King, and Dawn Taylor star Olivia Bromley.
