EastEnders star’s adult site earnings ‘sky rocket’ after Ben Mitchell roleplay
EXCLUSIVE: Former EastEnders star Joshua Pascoe says fans are paying to relive his days as Ben Mitchell, revealing requests inspired by his iconic soap character have flooded his DMs
Former EastEnders star Joshua Pascoe has revealed fans are paying to relive his days as Ben Mitchell, with requests inspired by his iconic soap character helping fuel his success online.
The actor, who played Ben Mitchell on the BBC soap between 2010 and 2012, swapped acting for life on building sites before launching an racy online account – and admits he was stunned by the response.
Joshua says many subscribers are nostalgic for his time in Albert Square, with some even asking for content that reminds them of his portrayal of Phil Mitchell’s troubled son. Speaking about the surprising reaction, he said: “I put a video up of me in my glasses and it went crazy… I won’t even repeat some of what people have said. It’s amazing how many people have said Ben Mitchell is a fantasy… it sounds so strange to say, but people like it.”
The former soap star admitted he never expected his EastEnders role to continue attracting attention years after leaving the show, but says fans regularly reference the character when they get in touch.
Joshua’s career took a very different direction after acting opportunities began to dry up. “The acting slowly dried up and I went to work on a building site instead,” he explained.
“Then my friends suggested I start the adult work and within the first month I was in double figures. I get funny looks sometimes, but no one’s asked me about it at work yet.”
He’s also discovered there’s no shortage of unusual requests from subscribers. “The market for blokes’ feet is mad… when I first got speaking to people they were like, ‘Can we see a picture of your feet?’ There are so many different kinks and since starting this, I’ve realised I’m not as vanilla as I thought.”
Joshua became part of EastEnders history during one of the soap’s darkest storylines, when Ben Mitchell killed Heather Trott, played by Cheryl Fergison, before later being sent to prison.
He has previously described leaving the soap aged just 16 as a “double edged sword”, saying he was proud to be involved in such a huge storyline but devastated to say goodbye to the role.
After taking on a handful of acting jobs following his EastEnders exit, Joshua eventually left the industry altogether and began working in construction.
More than a decade after stepping away from the spotlight, he says life couldn’t be better.
“I’ve been out of the acting world for years now. I’ve just got a normal job. I’m a normal bloke. I’ve got a nine to five, Monday to Friday. I’m humble – there’s nothing flashy or lairy about me.”
He added: “I’m just a normal guy, but people have been really interested, which has baffled me. They like talking, they like finding out what you’re up to.
“And it’s been pretty amazing. I never imagined it would take off the way it has. And I couldn’t be happier.”
