Which nights is EastEnders cancelled this week?

You’ll still get your usual fix of four episodes over the coming days, but you’ll need to look a little further down your remote.

EastEnders is shifting its transmission pattern, meaning all of this week’s episodes will air on BBC Two instead of their traditional home on BBC One.

There will be no episodes on Tuesday, June 30, and Friday, July 3.

BBC One is airing the World Cup last 32 match-up between Ivory Coast and Norway on Tuesday, while BBC Two has Wimbledon coverage in the soap’s regular slot.

Friday is EastEnders‘ usual off-night.

Here is the full schedule for the week:

  • Monday, June 29: 7.30pm and 8pm on BBC Two
  • Tuesday, June 30: No episode
  • Wednesday, July 1: 7.30pm
  • Thursday, July 2: 7.30pm
  • Friday, July 3: No episode

When do the EastEnders double episodes air?

There is a double bill tonight – Monday, June 29 – with two episodes airing back to back on BBC Two at 7.30pm and 8pm.

The move comes as Wimbledon gets under way on the BBC.

Wimbledon coverage began on BBC Two in the morning, with BBC One joining the action later in the afternoon.

With the grass-court action dominating the daytime and early-evening schedule, EastEnders has been moved over to BBC Two.

Plenty of soap enthusiasts have been expressing their views on social media.

One posted: “Stick all the sport on BBC 3 and leave it there.”

Another fumed: “Just put Wimbledon on iPlayer, as no bugger really cares about it.”

But one viewer saw the positive side, writing: “Back before the internet & online arrived, viewers had to wait and moan about football taking over, so just be thankful.”

How to watch episodes on iPlayer

Each episode of EastEnders is released on iPlayer from 6am on the day it is due to air.

So you can watch the latest Albert Square action from early in the morning.

And even if you are caught out by the channel switch-up, you can still catch up with all of the drama.
