Exclusive: Emmerdale star Amy Walsh reveals why Nate's death story isn't over

Emmerdale spoilers follow.

Emmerdale star Amy Walsh has called for “ultimate justice” to be served in Nate Robinson’s unresolved storyline.

Amy’s character Tracy Robinson still has many unanswered questions on her mind amid the theory that her late husband was k.i.l.l.e.d by Owen Michaels, a total stranger.

Fans know that scheming John Sugden – Nate’s real m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r – plotted to frame Owen after finding him d.e.a.d following an overdose. After writing a fake confession note, John tricked the police into thinking that Owen turned nasty with Nate during a road altercation.

Amy recently caught up with us at an exclusive photoshoot for the Inside Soap Awards 2025, where she hinted that the truth can’t stay buried forever…

“I love the fact that Cain and Tracy are now a force to be reckoned with, trying to find Nate’s m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r,” Amy enthused.

“It was so much fun hating Cain, accusing him and shouting at him in the street. It makes it even more fun being his little sidekick – and I think the two together are a really good character duo. I think ultimate justice for Nate would be for Tracy to find out who k.i.l.l.e.d him…”

She continued: “There’s a glimmer of doubt and she still doesn’t understand it. Why would a bit of road rage have led to m.u.r.d.e.r?

“She’s never heard of this guy Owen. How could he have planted Nate’s phone in her house? She’s like a dog with a bone now, as there are so many loose ends to tie up.”

Discussing hopes for Tracy’s future, Amy laughed: “I don’t know what’s next for Tracy, it’s a really strange time. I’m hoping for some kind of really lovely love affair relationship that ends well! With not d.e.a.t.h, divorce or any of the above!”

Amy is up for the Best Actress prize at the Inside Soap Awards this year, after a series of emotional performances in Nate’s d.e.a.t.h storyline.

She’s also representing the Best Showstopper category, as she was part of the action-packed limo crash storyline back in February.

“It feels really nice to be nominated for Best Actress this year. Best Actress is ‘the one’ and it’s just really nice to be acknowledged for the work you’ve done, definitely. It’s a lovely feeling,” Amy told us.

“I’m so glad that the limo crash has been nominated for Best Showstopper. It was such an amazing shoot to be part of – probably my favourite of my whole time in Emmerdale.

“It was such a massive set and production. We all worked so hard in the height of winter and it just feels amazing for it to get some acknowledgement at the awards this year. I really hope it wins some.”
