Fans will not be able to watch EastEnders of BBC One tonight. Despite airing on BBC One for over four decades, the soap will move to BBC Two tonight.

Ordinarily, EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7:30pm on BBC One. But this week, that would clash with the BBC’s coverage of the FIFA World Cup. Tonight, the soap will continue to air at 7:30pm, but has been bumped to BBC Two, while BBC One airs Belgium vs Egypt, which is taking place at Seattle Stadium.

Tomorrow, the same will happen. EastEnders will air on BBC Two while France vs Senegal, which is taking place at New Jersey Stadium in New York, airs on BBC One.

EastEnders will return to BBC One on Wednesday and Thursday, but will air later. It will start at 8:30pm, though fans can still watch the episodes early on BBC iPlayer, as episodes will drop daily from.

On Wednesday, it comes after Portugal vs Democratic Republic of Congo, while on Thursday, it comes after Czech Republic vs South Africa.

Tonight’s episode is set to focus on the fallout from last week, as Denise (Diane Parish) continues to hide her blood cancer diagnosis from her family. The truth is set to come out this week, ahead of her daughter Libby’s (Belinda Owusu) return to the Square.

This also comes ahead to a new but very familiar face coming to EastEnders. Former Strictly contestant La Voix is set for a cameo on the BBC soap. The drag icon, whose real name is Christopher Dennis, is set to help the soap mark Pride month with a gig in the Queen Vic.

It’s part of Walford’s LGBTQ+ celebrations which will air soon. The show first began celebrating Pride in 2019. The RuPaul’s Drag Race star is close pals with actress Harriet Thorpe. The star plays the role of Elaine Peacock, who was the former landlady of the pub.

Meanwhile Strictly is getting its own taste of EastEnders, as Stacey Slater actress Lacey Turner was the first name announced for this year’s series.

After being announced, Lacey, who is expected to return to EastEnders at some point, said: “I am so excited to being making my way to the dance floor this year to be a part of Strictly Come Dancing!

“I am a huge fan and can’t quite believe I will be taking part and not watching at home this year! I look forward to meeting everyone and learning a new skill!”

The other names announced are Delta Goodrem and Dani Dyer. Dani has her own link to EastEnders, as her father, Danny Dyer, played Mick Carter on the show. Mick was the son of Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), though they were raised as siblings.
