Emmerdale World Cup schedule guide: When is soap on during football tournament?

WORLD CUP fever is officially here, and with a record-breaking 48 teams competing this year, the tournament is bigger than ever.

UK football fans won’t miss a single second of the action, with the BBC and ITV teaming up to broadcast every match live across their channels.

But for soap fan’s, there’s a catch, and Britain’s favorite evening dramas are facing a major scheduling shake-up.

ITV‘s Emmerdale is among the hardest-hit shows, as its usual 8pm slot clashes with coverage of many high-stakes games.

Emmerdale usually broadcasts 30-minute episodes, but in some cases over the coming weeks, it’ll be shown in hour-long blocks.

That’s because ITV may choose to show two episodes back-to-back to make up for lost time.

Coronation Street is also facing disruption because of the tournament, which is being hosted in the USA, Canada and Mexico.

What is the Emmerdale schedule during the World Cup?
