Next week on EastEnders, Denise makes her blood cancer diagnosis public, Vinny asks Penny to move in with him, and Chelsea meets up with Gray’s nan Sheila…

1. Phil confronts Denise

Still not ready to begin treatment, Denise ignores multiple calls from the hospital.

Stressed, Jack shares his worries with Phil, prompting the two men to discuss how they can change Denise’s mind.

The Fox-Trueman clan then show their support for Chelsea and Jordan, before Denise realises that Kim is sporting an engagement ring.

After Kim confirms that she and Howie are engaged, the family plan to celebrate the happy news at the pub. However, Chelsea picks up on the fact that her mum is preoccupied.

Subsequently, Phil reveals to Denise that he knows about her diagnosis, leaving her shocked. The Mitchell man expresses his concern, but Denise chucks him out on his ear.

Elsewhere, Kathy tries her best to reassure Ian, while Honey feels healthy enough to celebrate with Billy, relieved that Bea has packed her bags and gone to live with Mo.

2. Vinny asks Penny to move in

At a birth-plan appointment with Penny, Vinny feels sidelined, but later promises his commitment to his girlfriend and asks her to move in with him.

As the week progresses, Vinny is clearly over the moon about shacking up, but Penny is anxious about breaking the news to Gina.

As both Penny and Gina avoid admitting their intentions to move, will they go ahead with their respective plans?

3. Denise announces her diagnosis

While celebrating Kim and Howie’s engagement at The Vic, Denise fears that Jack and Phil will reveal her diagnosis.

During the gathering, Kim makes a heartfelt speech, but Denise finds it too much to bear and runs to the loos in an emotional state. Chelsea follows her mum, but Denise refuses to explain the real reason for her upset.

Once back in the pub, Denise bravely announces her diagnosis.

4. Ian sacks Johnny

Terrified for his future, Ian fires Johnny, believing that he isn’t focused enough on his case. Afterwards, Ian searches for someone else to represent him, but ends up having to ask Kathy for money to secure a top solicitor.

Will Kathy give him the cash he needs?

5. Denise agrees to start treatment

Having revealed her diagnosis, Denise returns home and summons the courage to call Walford General back. Meanwhile, the family try to get their heads around Denise’s news. Kim is stunned that Yolande was already in the know, while Chelsea makes the decision to call Libby.

Later, Denise learns that she will need to spend a month in hospital, so the Fox-Truemans vow to keep the household up and running in her absence.

In the lead-up to her hospital stay, Denise feels hesitation, but a poignant conversation convinces her to stick to her plan.

As Max and other Walford residents show their support for Jack, will Denise respond well to treatment?

6. Bea buys time with Honey

After all their recent dramas, Honey and Billy head out on a date together.

The next day, Bea overhears Billy telling Alfie about a situation involving Honey that took place after the date.

Spotting an opportunity to spend time with Honey, Bea leaps in and takes her out for a drink.

Will Bea worm her way back into Honey’s life?

7. Libby arrives in Walford

In support of Denise, Libby lands back in Walford.

While reuniting with the family, Libby shares an emotional moment with Chelsea, who later reveals that she’s been receiving cheques from Gray’s nan Sheila, but she hasn’t cashed them in.

Over at the hospital, Denise starts her treatment plan, set on fighting her illness for the sake of her family.

8. Chelsea is overwhelmed

Busy caring for Jordan, Chelsea feels the pressure of rising costs. Unfortunately, Chelsea is presented with yet another issue when Jordan asks to see Denise and Jack.

Behind closed doors, Libby tries to contact Sheila, but Jack stops her progress when he reveals that Denise has requested to see her and Chelsea.

At Walford General, Denise asks Libby and Chelsea to promise that they will care for each other. The two women then agree to find out whether they could be a bone marrow match for Denise.

9. Libby is caught out

At the pub, Libby tries to conceal a text message that she has received from Sheila. Her efforts fail, though, as Chelsea uncovers what she is up to. As a result, Chelsea and Libby end up in a heated exchange.

After calming down, Chelsea confides in Eve about wanting to do the best by Jordan. The doting mum goes on to put things right with Libby, before dialling Sheila’s phone number.

10. Chelsea meets Sheila

With Libby’s support, Chelsea makes a plan to chat with Sheila in person. At their meeting, Chelsea grills Sheila about her relationship with Gray. Thankfully for Chelsea, Sheila explains that she has no contact with her murderous grandson.

As the conversation continues, Sheila declares that she’s willing to provide money for Jordan. Chelsea accepts the generous offer at first, but her guilty conscience forces her to think twice.
