Kelvin Fletcher’s wife Liz admitted she was doing “terrible” in a recent instalment of the ITV show.

The pair have been sharing their adventures on their Peak District property in Fletchers’ Family Farm. In an episode this week, Liz tried to get to grips with walking a cow as she and Kelvin prepared to exhibit some of their cattle at the Royal Cheshire Show.

However, she found it tough, confessing to former Emmerdale star Kelvin: “She was uncontrollable, she was walking me!”

In the segment, Kelvin was seen giving Liz tips on how to walk the cow but she admitted to some nerves.

“Not much on the farm has made me nervous, but this makes me nervous,” she said.

“The thing that is more nerve-wracking than anything, not only have you got to handle the cow, you’ve got to handle the cow in front of an audience,” Liz continued. “I can’t embarrass us. I can’t embarrass the Fletcher farming name by screaming like, ‘Ah!'”

“I genuinely don’t want to do it,” she added.

As Liz set off with Cherry, Kelvin urged her on. She initially struggled to get Cherry going and then found it tough to keep up with her.

After she insisted that she hadn’t been in control of the cow, Kelvin tried to reassure her, saying: “I think you’re doing yourself a disservice. You are expressing negativity. Let’s just think positive.”

“But you have to be real,” said Liz, who shares four young children with the soap star. “I can’t pretend that that was good. It wasn’t good.

“You’ve got to be realistic. You’ve got to know, I like to be realistic. Look, if I’m doing it terrible, I know I’m doing it terrible. I’ll get there. But right now, I accept it wasn’t great. I will do better next time.

“But I’m not fantasising that that was good.”

Kelvin, who found fame as Andy Sugden in ITV’s Emmerdale, initially chronicled his agricultural venture in Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure before he and Liz went on to create Fletchers’ Family Farm. It has now aired four series.
