EastEndersā George Knight is left reeling next week, as he finally learns what Nicola Mitchell and his evil dad Eddie have been plotting behind his back! Dying Eddie, who was serving a sentence behind bars, has beenĀ unlawfully staying with the pair in his final days.
It was Nicola who encouraged George to give his dad a chance, despite his horrific actions ā but what George doesnāt know is thatĀ Eddie struck a deal with NicolaĀ and offered her cash in exchange for a ticket out of prison.
The family dynamics have been tricky, however, andĀ Gina in particular is upset that Eddie is back in Walford, still scarred by his racism and his cruel treatment growing up.
When Eddie is vile towards Gina, George threatens to send his old man back to prison to protect his family ā so Eddie plays his trump card and exposes Nicolaās money-making schemeā¦
“George is devastated by Nicolaās betrayal!” says our Walford insider. “Heās had to welcome his murderous dad back with Nicolaās encouragement, only to discover itās all been about using the bank of Eddie! Heād rather be bankrupt than ever see his vile father againā¦”
Convinced his dad has become a different man, George is disgusted to hear what Eddie has said about Gina and realises he hasnāt changed his ways at all.
George is determined to send Eddie straight back to the nick, but his twisted father gets his own back with the bombshell about Nicola letting him stay for moneyā¦
As the two men argue, George discovers the extent of Nicolaās lies and disowns Eddie for the way heās treated the family. Old resentments bubble to the surface, but in an intense moment, George makes a split-second decision to protect his family from Eddie for good! But will George live to regret the action he takes?
These scenes take place on a special week of episodes that are set acrossĀ the evening of Ross and Vickiās wedding, on a night that will change everything for a number of characters.
