Jósephine Jobert’s new crime series Saint-Pierre has officially been renewed for a third season – with filming set to start in July.

The Death in Paradise star leads the cast of the detective drama as Deputy Chief Geneviève Archambault, aka Arch, a French transplant who lives in the titular Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

She’s joined by Allan Hawco’s character Royal Newfoundland Constabulary Inspector Donald Fitzpatrick, aka Fitz, after he’s exiled to the island.

Both in Saint-Pierre for their own separate reasons, while it might look like a postcard-perfect getaway, Arch and Fitz soon discover there is a darker side to the French territory off the coast of Canada – and its rife with criminal activity for them to put a stop to.

First launching in 2025, the cosy comfort series, which was created by lead actor Hawco, has been dubbed “the Canadian Death in Paradise” by reviewers including The Guardian.

It’s since become a fan favourite on Canadian network CBC, and later launched on U&Alibi in the UK.

Following its success, the show was quickly renewed for a second season, which aired in April 2026.

The news of the show’s third season renewal was announced by Deadline today, and filming is set to commence in July in Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon.

Hawco, whose production company makes the series, later shared the news on social media, writing a simple “Coming Soon” over a picture of Hawk and Fitz, as well as a supercut of scenes from the action-packed season 2.

In a statement released to Deadline, Hawco and co-creator Robina Lord-Stafford said: “We’re incredibly grateful for the continued support from CBC, our incredible partners at Fifth Season, and the worldwide fans who have embraced the show from the very beginning.

“Returning to Newfoundland and Saint-Pierre et Miquelon for Season 3 is especially exciting, as these locations are such an important part of the show’s identity.

“We’re looking forward to building on the momentum of the first two seasons and bringing audiences even more of the mystery, unexpected twists, and character dynamics that make this world so special.”

Saint-Pierre is Jobert’s first major series after leaving Death in Paradise, having appeared on the BBC series from 2015 to 2022.

She would briefly return to the show in 2024, with character DS Florence Cassell coming back to the Caribbean island of Saint Marie to finish up a case.

After that, her character was forced to go into witness protection, and has not been seen again.

Saint-Pierre is available to watch on U&Alibi.
