Emmerdale Dr Todd’s cruel next move ‘seals’ fate – and it’s bad news for Jacob
Emmerdale's Dr Todd did the unthinkable on Friday that dashed Jacob Sugden's complaint hopes and teases a bleak future for him and Charity Dingle, with Todd's own fate teased
Dr Todd in Emmerdale is going nowhere, with spoilers and recent scenes appearing to confirm her reign of terror is set to continue.
It’s not good news for Jacob Sugden, who was so close to being rid of his bullying boss until she made a cruel move on Friday. Not only that, but spoilers for next week also confirm she’s sticking around like a bad smell with more chaos on the way.
She’s about to get involved with Vanessa Woodfield, while also she ignites a feud with Charity Dingle in a sinister blackmail storyline. This week, Jacob finally had enough of Dr Todd after she continues to set him up as this obsessive, out of control medical student.

Vanessa had the wool pulled over her eyes but Jacob’s wife Sarah Sugden did not. She fully backed him and vowed to have it out with Todd, but Jacob begged her to leave matters alone.
It’s not very much Sarah and Jacob versus Dr Todd and Vanessa, who is close with Sarah. Dr Todd has risked tearing that friendship apart, with Sarah and Victoria family at one point.
Todd has no issue with wrecking lives though, having tried to destroy Jacob for so long. Jacob did get a recording of her confessing this only for her to realise and delete it.
Jacob wasn’t put off from complaining to HR though, only for Todd to have the upper hand once again. Jumping before she was pushed, Dr Todd retired leaving everyone stunned, while Jacob was hopeful it went end his misery.

But her cruel move that will see Jacob not get the justice he deserved means she can protect her reputation, while continuing her torment in the village now, instead of the hospital. It’s not just Jacob who needs to watch out though.
This is where Todd’s future on the show comes into it, as it seems those expecting her to leave as part of the retirement can think again. Not only does Jacob still look guilty and he’s now unable to clear his name, no one else in the village, asides Sarah and maybe Ross Barton, knows it wasn’t just Jacob she tormented.
Vanessa firmly believes Todd, and next week the pair kiss after agreeing to a date. Charity is obviously shocked by this, but that’s because prior to the romance being hard launched, she is threatened by the doctor having believed their recent drama had been put to bed.
With Todd now not at the hospital and no doubt blaming Jacob for this, it seems she no longer has an agreement with Charity. Dr Todd had found out Charity’s baby lie, and that the baby she carried for Sarah and Jacob was no their biological child.
Todd knows the baby is Charity and Ross’, and she asked Charity to get Jacob to drop his complaint in exchange for her DNA bombshell silence. Now that she’s left and Jacob went back to HR, Todd has nothing to lose.
After dropping hints in front of Jacob, Todd warns Charity she has definitive proof about baby Leyla’s genetic parents and demands she pay her £10,000 to keep the secret. Calling it compensation for the pension Jacob cost her, she demands the money but will Charity cave in?
What this reveals is that Todd is going nowhere, and her threats are staying put too. She’s now got something against Jacob that could ruin his life, while the same goes for Charity, so this could run and run!
