Emmerdale Jamie Tate’s return ‘sealed’ 30 years after first episode
Jamie Tate was last seen on Emmerdale a few years ago but fans are now convinced he could be making a return to the ITV soap
Emmerdale viewers are speculating that a familiar face could be making a comeback to the village.
Kim Tate (Claire King) has been a mainstay of the popular long-running soap since 1989, and it’s fair to say the village’s formidable matriarch, she’s been at the centre of numerous major storylines.
Her time on screen has been anything but dull, from numerous conflicts throughout the Dales to staging her own death.
Currently in the village, Kim has left her former step-grandson Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) seething after discovering she intends to leave Home Farm to Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) in her will.
An outraged Joe then schemed to frame Lydia for theft from Kim, believing this would see her removed from the will. Yet Joe ultimately abandoned the plan, and in Friday’s episode (March 20), he confronted Kim about her inheritance decision, reports the Express.
He expressed how Home Farm serves as his only remaining connection to his family and was heartbroken by her choice. However, the determined Kim stood firm.
She clarified that Lydia should inherit the estate because her son Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) and other family members would be furious if she bequeathed it to Joe.
Following Jamie Tate’s mention in the recent episode, viewers are now forecasting his return to the soap. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, someone posted: “Jamie Tate mention.” Another responded: “Is his return looming?”
Whilst a third suggested: “I think he might come back to help Kim get rid of Joe and Graham.” Jamie first arrived in the village back in 1996 and was last spotted on screens in 2021, portrayed by Alexander Lincoln, following a staged car crash designed to fake his death.
