Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Sabrina Is Upset Because She Still Has Feelings For Rich

Sabrina’s Meltdown Over Rich and Penelope: Why She’s Already the Worst This Season
“You two can have each other. I don’t even know why I’m wasting my time. Get off me, Rich. Let her go, Rich. You heard me. You clearly can’t handle him, so I will. Seriously, Sabrina? Seriously?”
Let me just say it straight up — the Sabrina and Rich scenes in the season 9 premiere were hands down the most frustrating, painful parts of the episode. And judging by how her storyline is shaping up this season… I already know I’m going to hate every second of it. According to the synopsis for episode 3, Sabrina’s supposed to be “out there living her best life,” having some kind of hot girl summer. But let’s be real — this is just another chapter in her messy pattern of self-sabotage and pettiness.
We’ve seen it before, haven’t we? Danny and Preston. Karen and Zac. Andy and Gary. And now Sabrina and Rich. And yes, we could even say it started with Calvin — though they didn’t spend nearly as much time developing that dynamic. Back then, Sabrina was quick to dismiss Calvin as “not enough” for her, but then got all up in her feelings whenever he dared show interest in someone else. Hypocrisy at its finest.
And now, here we are again. Sabrina dumped Rich. She made that decision. But somehow, seeing him with Penelope makes her lose her mind — as if she still owns him. Girl, stop.
Let’s back it up for a second. This whole thing started when she blindsided Rich over dinner by admitting she’d already had Demani’s sperm frozen and her eggs fertilized — without ever discussing it with Rich beforehand. Understandably, he walked out. Honestly? He handled it better than I expected. Then we get that one-month time skip, during which Rich ghosted her completely. And I can’t even blame him for that — she made her choice. So when she showed up at his juice shop a month later with a box of his things, she should have just handed it over and walked away. Period.
But no — she had to make it messy. When she caught him with Penelope, she flipped out. And let’s not forget, during that same time skip she was out here growing closer to Demani on that little work trip. So you’re telling me she’s allowed to move on, but Rich isn’t? Make it make sense.
And to make it even worse, she starts interrogating him about his history with Penelope. “So you’ve known her since you were young… have you two ever done anything before?” Sabrina, please. You lost all rights to ask those questions the second you broke up with him.
Rich even tried to explain himself — which, honestly, he didn’t even owe her — saying she stopped him from making a huge mistake with Penelope, that he was just trying to take his mind off her. But that’s the thing: she shouldn’t have even been there to hear that. It’s done. Over.
Then she has the audacity to throw shots at Penelope, calling her desperate? Sabrina, please look in the mirror. You’re the one barging in, yelling, throwing boxes, and acting like a child. And let’s be real — if the roles were reversed and Rich caught Sabrina and Demani out on a date the next day, she would’ve hit him with the classic “We’re done, Rich, it doesn’t matter.” But when she catches him moving on? Suddenly she’s the victim?
Nah. Miss me with all of that.
At this point, it’s clear Sabrina’s just mad because she didn’t get to end things on her own terms. She didn’t get to slam the door shut — and that bruised her ego. So instead of letting go and moving on, she’s clinging to drama that she herself created.
And don’t even get me started on her taking cheap shots at Penelope. You don’t have to like her, but you also don’t need to act like a bitter ex in front of everyone. That’s not a good look, Sabrina.
Bottom line: Rich deserves better. And honestly, the way Sabrina’s behaving right now, she deserves to sit alone and reflect on her choices.
I already know I’m going to hate her arc this season. I already know. But what do you all think? Are you Team Sabrina? Team Rich? Or Team “both of them need to grow up and move on”?
