EastEnders fans are abuzz with rumours that a well-known character might be making a comeback to Albert Square as intrigue surrounding an unseen character intensifies.

As regular viewers of the BBC soap will know, Ravi Gulati (Aaron Thiara) has become a police informant to avoid jail time following Harry Mitchell’s (Elijah Holloway) kidnapping ordeal last year.

Despite doing detective work for Jack Branning (Scott Maslen), Ravi is in financial difficulty and was turned down for a sales position at the car lot by Max (Jake Wood), leaving him feeling despondent.

On Wednesday (February 25), Ravi was desperate to make money quickly and approached Mark Fowler (Stephen Aaron-Sipple) for a shady job moving drugs.

“The thing is, Gaffer is getting paranoid. He turned on one of his men last night. Thought he was talking”, Mark informed Ravi, reports OK!.

He added, “Just one of his old guard. He wasn’t, but now the bloke’s in A&E.”

Despite his need for cash, Ravi didn’t show up for the job, rushing off at the last minute to assist his son, Nugget (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury), who had another seizure.

Meanwhile, Mark has been tasked with identifying a police informant who is also working for the same criminal gang and is oblivious that the informant is Ravi.

So far, the identity of Mark’s drug boss remains a mystery, but some EastEnders fans are convinced it’s Dan Sullivan, who they believe will return to Walford after a 25-year absence.

Craig Fairbrass caused quite a stir back in 1999 when he first emerged as Carol Jackson’s (portrayed by Lindsey Coulson) boyfriend and proved to be something of a rogue.

The storyline between Carol and Dan became increasingly complicated when the pair chose to tie the knot and learnt that she was carrying his baby. Everything went wrong when it came to light that Dan had a sleazy history with Carol’s daughter, Bianca Jackson (portrayed by Patsy Palmer).

A passionate relationship developed between Dan and Bianca despite her being married to Ricky Butcher (Sid Owen), and when the shocking revelation reached Carol, she chose to terminate the pregnancy.

Longtime fans will remember how Dan became caught up in a fierce feud with Phil Mitchell (portrayed by Steve McFadden) and was at the heart of the legendary Who Shot Phil storyline, where he pursued revenge.

Nevertheless, the real perpetrator proved to be Lisa Shaw (played by Lucy Benjamin), leaving Dan falsely blamed and standing trial for the offence.

He was eventually cleared, and his storyline concluded spectacularly as he seized Mel Owen (portrayed by Tamzin Outhwaite) as a captive in a bold extortion scheme against Phil and Steve Owen (Martin Kemp), demanding a substantial £200,000 payment before escaping overseas in 2001.

Posting on Reddit, EastEnders enthusiasts have been theorising about the drug kingpin’s identity, with one user simply writing: “Dan Sullivan”, whilst another admitted: “I’d love it to be Dan Sullivan. It makes no sense at all, but I don’t care.”

“I think the 3 who have the highest likelihood of being the boss are Dan Sullivan, Jake Moon, and Paul Truman. That’s if it’s someone we know, which I’m assuming it is probably”, one viewer speculated.

“If it’s anyone from Phil’s past, I’ll want it to be Dan Sullivan. He has the size and attitude of someone Ravi would be afraid of. Mark also described the boss as someone who is harder than most on the square, and Dan is among the top tier”, another chimed in.
