Emmerdale’s Charles star’s famous girlfriend in real life and fans will be floored
Charles Anderson has had a dramatic love life in Emmerdale but in real life actor Kevin Mathurin is loved-up with his famous girlfriend
Emmerdale’s Kevin Mathurin is a firm favourite on the ITV soap, and it turns out he has a rather famous girlfriend in real life.
Local vicar Charles Anderson (Kevin Mathurin) made his first appearance on the soap back in 2020 – and it didn’t take him long to become a hit with fans. And over the years. Charles has also played a part in several big storylines.
From his doomed romance with Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) to the death of his son Ethan (Emile John), Charles’ time in the village has not been short of drama.
What’s more, in 2023, Charles’ mum, Claudette (Flo Wilson), rocked up to the Dales, and she quickly ruffled a few feathers. And in Wednesday’s episode (February 25), Charles and Claudette attend Ray Walters’ (Joe Absolom) wake following his death.
Away from the long-running ITV soap, though, Charles’ actor Kevin lives a far less dramatic life and is loved-up with his long-term partner, who happens to be a famous face.
Kevin has been in a relationship with international DJ Nikki Beatnik, who works with A-list stars including Kelis, Jay-Z, and Kanye West, since 2011. The pair are parents to a son called Harley.
Like her partner Kevin, Nikki is also in the showbiz world, working as a producer and DJ. In 2016, she spoke about her career, telling The Standard: “I’ve met some cool, interesting people.”
She recalled: “One night Spike Jones hung out with me in the booth, but I didn’t say a word to him because I was just too busy DJing.
“Another time, we went out with Tom Jones and was like, ‘This is crazy’. I did parties for Alicia Keys a few times, and she’d have people like Stevie Wonder coming.”
Meanwhile, in 2023, Kevin, who commutes from the family home in south London to Leeds, where Emmerdale is filmed, opened up about his relationship with Nikki. He revealed she would have “killed him” if he hadn’t accepted the role of Charles on Emmerdale because she knows how much it means to him.

“I do feel guilty being away from the family, especially when the schedule is really busy, and I am working five days a week. It breaks my heart when I get a little voice message from my eight-year-old son, Harley, saying he misses me,” Kevin told OK.
“And it’s especially hard for Nikki as she is the one juggling all the school runs and after-school activities, but knowing Harley and my 14-year-old daughter, Gracie, are missing their dad.
“Even if I have had a busy day filming, I will always have so much empathy for Nikki when we catch up on a video call in the evening.”
Kevin added, “But she also understands what it is like to have a job you love. She has a job she loves too. And thankfully, if we are both away with our jobs, we’ve got the grandparents to help out.”
