Spoilers for Emmerdale have revealed Cain Dingle (played by Jeff Hordley) reaches breaking point in scenes yet to air after receiving the news that his son’s k.i.l.l.e.r has been revealed. Cain finds it difficult to cope after police suggest Owen Michaels (Simon Haines) – the man who spiked Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) appears to be responsible for Nate Robinson’s (Jurell Carter) d.e.a.t.h.
Soon, viewers will see John Sugden (Oliver Farnworth), who is Nate’s actual k.i.l.l.e.r, try and frame Owen for the m.u.r.d.e.r. When police discover Owen d.e.a.d in his home, they discover a “suicide note” in which he seems to take the blame for Nate’s passing. The note says he and Nate had an altercation, which ended in violence and his accidental d.e.a.t.h.

Both Cain and Tracy Metcalfe (Amy Walsh) have been blaming each other for Nate’s m.u.r.d.e.r as they want closure, and they find it hard to process this new information.
Later, when John calls to check in on Cain, he’s troubled to see the state the village mechanic is in.
Then Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) explains to John just how heartbreaking it is to lose a child, as he’s been through it himself in recent years when his daughter was m.u.r.d.e.r.e.d.
John feels remorseful and reaches out to a helpline to alleviate his guilt. A volunteer on the phone suggests John and Cain speak on the phone, leaving the latter thoughtful.
Is John finally ready to confess to heartbroken Cain?
Emmerdale airs on weeknights on ITV and ITVX at 7.30pm.
