An Emmerdale villain hints at an exit over Christmas – but an unexpected twist could change everything and leave you VERY SHOCKED.
Emmerdale's Celia Daniels actress Jaye Griffiths has teased her exit could air over Christmas and she might not be alone, while a twist in the tale could scupper their plans
Celia Daniels could be fleeing Emmerdale over Christmas, it’s been teased by the actress who plays her.
Jaye Griffiths has revealed her villainous character plots her escape this week, wanting to get away from the village before her dodgy dealings are rumbled. She might not be alone though, with Jaye teasing a double departure.
But a twist for one of the characters could see the plan fall apart. Jaye has hinted that her character Celia and her ‘son’ Ray Walters will pack up and leave amid the soap’s horrifying modern slavery storyline.
As Ray gets closer to Laurel Thomas though and dreams of a life away from his mum, could his love for the character derail his escape plan with Celia? If yes, it will change everything, and both of them could be at risk of being rumbled.
Teasing Christmas for Celia, Jaye confessed it wasn’t a joyous occasion. She teased: “Celia doesn’t mark Christmas. And this year she is planning on them leaving the area.
“As it has all got too complicated, April’s family are an irritant to her and things are also getting complicated business wise as Moira is becoming troublesome by asking too many questions. But more alarmingly Ray has gone and fallen in love.
“So she’s extricating them to another area. It is clear that this is something they have done before – find another farm in another location and set up their enterprise again.” Jaye says her own festivities will be a much more positive time.
She revealed: “I have the most perfect Christmasses. We go to the seaside on Christmas Day. We take a mini Christmas picnic, one of those miniature bottles of champagne. And we pack a Christmas lunch for the dogs.
“We get up really early, drive to the seaside, and of course it’s dark as it is like five o’clock. So then we are back in the car. We walk for miles, sit in the sand dunes, have our picnic, and watch our dogs run and run and be joy made flesh. Then we drive home, light the fire, get into our pyjamas, and have our Christmas meal in the evening.
“Watching a film hopefully Elf as it is my favourite Christmas film. Or It’s A Wonderful Life”. And we do presents in the evening. Then on Boxing day we don’t leave the house. Lovely. It is just joyous.”
Weeks ago, Jaye hinted at a looming exit for Celia. “I knew it was finite from the start, which I am very sad about,” she confessed. “I would like to stay forever, but it’s such a strong arc.”
