The real reason Anthony is ‘obsessed’ with Zoe — and it’s incredibly dark, leaving fans SHOCKED
Anthony Trueman has been acting suspicious in recent weeks and EastEnders fans have been theorising why the doctor seems to be "obsessed" with his ex Zoe Slater two decades after their split
BBC soap EastEnders fans are convinced Anthony Trueman is terrorising Zoe Slater.
The doctor, played by Nicolas Bailey, has recently made a permanent return to Walford and has been acting shifty ever since.
His former lover Zoe (Michelle Ryan), who is currently looking for the son she gave up for adoption 19 years ago, has been growing increasingly worried about the frightening threats she has been receiving over the past few weeks.
The harassment continued this week as Kat Moon (Jessie Wallace), Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) and Zoe were kept up all night by nuisance calls and texts and Zoe was convinced that Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) was the mysterious caller.
Kat and Alfie tried to convince Zoe that Jean wasn’t her tormentor but she remained firm and decided to call round to have it out with Jean herself.
Jean wasn’t open to talking and yet another argument broke out between them. With Jean’s mental health clearly suffering, Kat and Alfie advised Zoe to stop picking a fight with her.
Feeling completely alone, Zoe phoned Anthony to get some support but as he invited her round for a glass of wine, it was revealed that he was looking at a slideshow of photos of her on his computer.
Later that evening, Zoe and Anthony had a drink together and the pair shared a kiss before heading upstairs to the bedroom.
Anthony previously tried to convince Zoe’s family that she was having a psychotic break but could he be her stalker after all?
Taking to social media, one fan penned: “What if Anthony and his wife adopted Zoe’s son without her knowing and they don’t want him to get back to Zoe…?”
Another added: “I think Anthony has her kid/kids.” A third person agreed: “He wants her to be deemed unfit to be a mother I think.”
Someone else said: “I’m now convinced Anthony is the one terrorising Zoe.. He’s super obsessed with her and always around her.
“When she rejected him the first time he looked angry and is terrorising her to keep her close and punishing her for rejecting him. Something is off.”
In a 2006 flashback scene, Zoe gave birth to twins, a boy and a girl, after leaving Albert Square.
The daughter seemingly passed away and she decided tp put her son up for adoption.
Fans have since been theorising if Anthony is the father of her children after they embarked on a romance two decades ago but it ended when he revealed he was in love with her mother, Kat.
EastEnders airs Monday to Thursday at 7.30pm on BBC One and available to stream on BBC iPlayer from 6am
