EastEnders’ Zoe Slater’s stalker ‘revealed’ – but it’s not Jean

EastEnders have revealed a major clue about who Zoe Slater’s stalker might be. But while all signs point to Jean, fans are convinced this is a red herring and have a few other familiar faces in mind.
In Thursday night’s episode (20 November), Alfie Moon (Shane Ritchie) revealed he had found a gold hoop earring, splattered with paint, by the door to the barrel store, where big letters saying ‘You will pay’ had be scrawled. Zoe (Michelle Ryan) was convinced the earring belonged to Vicki (Alice Haig), who hasn’t been shy about her hatred of the Slater girl.
But, just before the doof doofs sounded, Jean (Gillian Wright) sidled up to the bar and picked up the earring, telling a shocked Alfie and Kat (Jessie Walalce) that she had been “looking for that everywhere”.

Fans weren’t terribly impressed with the idea that Jean might be the stalker, as she has spent several episodes blaming Zoe for the departure of her daughter Stacey (Lacey Turner). One fan wrote online: “So it was Jean who was stalking Zoe? Thank god that this boring storyline is over.”
However, many remain unconvinced that Jean is the real stalker. One wrote on X: “As much as I love Jean I don’t see as the evil mastermind behind the Zoe saga.”
Another said: “I can’t see the threats being from Jean she’s not capable of something like that. Despite her long running feud with Zoe.”

Instead, fans are starting to wonder if the next episode will start with Jean revealing that she was actually looking for the earring for someone else – her granddaughter Lily (Lillia Turner).
The teenager didn’t seem as upset as Jean that her mother left for Brazil, but was still angry with Zoe, when she realised that the returned Slater had been trying to convince Stacey to leave when Max (Jake Wood) came back and showed interest in her again.
On Reddit, one fan said: “I think come Monday it’ll be oh I was looking for that to give back to and then name of person.” In the replies of that comment, another added: “The only one I could think of where Jean is actually looking for the earrings for would be Lily.” Others added that it made sense because “Jean doesn’t wear earrings like that”.

Another fan said: “Eastenders is that predictable that Zoe’s stalker is probably just gonna end up being Lily all cos she’s p***** off at Zoe for Stacey leaving.”
With no EastEnders episodes airing on Fridays, Saturdays or Sundays, fans will have to wait until Monday to find out what really happened and if Kat and Alfie will confront Jean about their suspicions.
