Emmerdale Kev’s secret son’s identity revealed as fans rumble huge twist
Emmerdale aired a shock twist tonight on the ITV soap as we learned more about Kev and Robert's past in prison - with some surprise revelations and flashbacks
Emmerdale have seemingly confirmed that Kev has a secret son in the village. The ITV soap aired a shocking flashback episode tonight, as we learned the truth about Kev and Robert Sugden’s history.
Robert was actually not in prison in the Isle of Wight and was instead in Hotten, with him even getting a secret visit from Faith Dingle – who warned him that Aaron was in danger and needed him.
We also learned a lot about Kev and Robert’s time in prison and in a shock twist, Kev explained how he had a child with a lady called Emma – with it now seemingly hinting that new arrival Lewis Barton, played by Bradley Riches, is his long lost son.
Taking to Reddit, one fan wrote: “He’s Lewis’ Dad! Kev mentioned his son’s Mum was someone called Emma who got murdered a few years ago and she put the child up for adoption when he was born so it all adds up! I think it was early 2000s Kev got sent down so the timelines match. Seriously, wtf though? I was not expecting that reveal!”
“Of course he is! Be a bit of a coincidence given everything he said. Absolutely LOVE that twist! Definitely did not see it coming,” another added, as a third shared: “I mean he literally walks into the frame several times during that conversation and then fills half of it. Emmerdale really no longer going for subtle.”
However, some fans are predicting a second twist in the storyline – and if it might mean that Kev has a wider connection to the village and not just through his husband Robert, who wants to move on with Aaron.
“It’s made me wonder if Kev won’t be leaving the village after all? I mean we know he’s not dying and now he has a family connection that I’m sure he’ll find out about sharpish!” one suggested.
Another added: “I found it strange that Kev would care for Lewis when I read this yesterday, but now I’m assuming it must be because Kev/they both find out?” A third shared: “Maybe it’s a red herring and they are toying with us? Like when we all thought Vinny was going to be Paddy’s son. Yes this is me grasping at straws because I feel very meh about the whole idea.
“You’ve got to admit it is a possibility. Maybe Lewis becomes happy because he thinks he found his dad (later on) only for it to turn out to be a big misunderstanding.”
Is Kev really Lewis’ dad – and does that mean he might be hanging around the village more than we expected?
