Emmerdale d.e.a.t.h ‘sealed’ for legend after more than 20 years and Cain will be heartbroken
Emmerdale fans are convinced that a soap legend is going to be k.i.l.l.e.d off after 23 years on the show - and they are not happy about it
Emmerdale viewers are convinced that the grim reaper is lurking around the corner for one of the show’s cherished characters, and they’re none too pleased about the prospect.
Soap operas have a long history of bumping off significant characters in often explosive finales. Memorable exits include Hayley Cropper (Julie Hesmondhalgh) from Coronation Street and EastEnders’ own Dot Cotton (June Brown), and now it appears an Emmerdale stalwart could be next on the chopping block.
Lately, the Dingle family have found themselves at the centre of the storm in the village. The patriarch, Cain (Jeff Hordley), was hit with the devastating revelation that his son Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) had been killed and his body disposed of in a nearby river.
Cain’s granddaughter Sarah Sugden (Katie Hill) has faced her own set of woes. After longing to become a mother, she learned she had cancer which led to a life-altering hysterectomy.
Absent from the recent turmoil is Debbie (Charley Webb), who left for Scotland in 2021. Despite her move, her name popped up recently when it transpired she had relocated again to Australia, this time with a new man in tow, reports Belfast Live.
This has triggered speculation among fans that Debbie might meet her end off-screen, a twist that would rock the Dingle family to its core.
A concerned commentary emerged on an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, where a viewer lamented: “I love Debbie but at this point I really think she is going to get k.i.l.l.e.d off soon.”
Another viewer speculated: “Yeah I’ve been struggling with the idea that Sarah is going through everything while Debbie’s in Australia? !”.
Someone added their thoughts: “This new man in Australia could have something to do with her getting k.i.l.l.e.d perhaps.”
While one fan expressed frustration: “I would be so angry.” On a speculative note, another fan pondered: “I think eventually they will k.i.l.l her off. If she was to ever return it would be right now!”.
In the heart of Emmerdale storylines, Debbie Dingle, daughter of Cain and Charity (Emma Atkins), has been central to major plot twists ranging from tumultuous relationships to shocking DNA revelations. Her debut was back in 2002, with her most recent appearance on our screens being in 2021.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV1 and ITVX at 7.30pm
