Emmerdale Bombshell: Lawrence Robb Breaks Silence on Mack’s Freedom – But Is Charity About to Shatter It All?

Emmerdale fans are still reeling after McKenzie Boyd’s harrowing escape from John Sugden’s twisted woodland bunker, and now actor Lawrence Robb has finally spoken out about what’s next for his traumatised character.

For weeks, Mac was held captive underground — drugged, starved, and terrified — while the village feared the worst. In Thursday’s explosive episode, John finally cracked and dumped his battered prisoner at the hospital, paving the way for a tearful reunion between Mac and Charity. But as Lawrence reveals, the story is far from over.

Mac’s Fragile Future

“He’s relieved to be back home,” Lawrence admitted in Inside Soap. “But he’s in a lot of pain, and he’s probably suffering from PTSD after everything he’s endured. Right now, Mac’s focus is simply on survival — physically healing, but also trying to piece himself back together emotionally. He’s determined to rebuild what he had with Charity and the family.”

That, however, could prove impossible once Charity’s latest secret explodes.

Charity’s Paternity Nightmare

Unbeknownst to Mac, Charity is hiding a devastating truth. The baby she is carrying for Sarah and Jacob may not belong to her husband at all. After a fateful night with Ross Barton, she now has no idea whether the child’s father is Ross or Jacob.

And given Mac’s history with Ross, the fallout could be catastrophic. “Ross nearly k.i.l.l.e.d him a few months ago,” Lawrence explained. “They’ve never been able to see eye to eye, especially with everything involving Moses. If Ross turns out to be the father, it would cut Mac to the core.”

Ironically, Mac himself strayed with Chloe not long ago, which means he has little moral ground to stand on. But Lawrence admitted that this betrayal feels different. “Because it’s Ross, it’s more personal. That rivalry runs deep, and I don’t know if Mac could ever truly get over it.”

Scars That Don’t Heal

Even without Charity’s bombshell, Mac’s ordeal has left lasting damage. “He’ll carry both emotional and physical scars,” Lawrence revealed. “He was in that bunker for a long time, and you can’t just bounce back from that. It’s going to take time — and patience — before he feels like himself again.”

But will Charity’s secret detonate before he even has the chance to heal?
