Tyler Perry’s Sistas | Karen Told Aaron In Season 4 That She Had NO Interest In Having His Baby!

Karen Never Wanted the Baby – Breaking Down Season 4, Episode 6
Okay, Sistas fans. I’ve talked about this before on livestream, but after rewatching Season 4, Episode 6, I had to dedicate a full breakdown to this. And if you’ve ever come at me with: “Jeremy, how dare you criticize Karen? She’s going through postpartum. You’re not a woman, you wouldn’t understand!” …well, this episode basically proves my point.
Karen’s Attitude Toward Motherhood
Look back at the signs:
-
She scoffed at Aaron constantly being around the baby when talking to Pam.
-
She admitted to Dr. Vaughn that she skipped Faith’s first pediatric appointment, letting her mom take her instead.
-
In an earlier episode, she refused to get out of bed when the baby cried, demanding Aaron handle it.
The truth? Karen never wanted this baby. She wanted Zac’s baby—not because she wanted to be a mother, but because it gave her a tether to Zac.
Episode 6 – The Foot Massage Bombshell
The episode opens with Aaron giving Karen a foot massage. That’s when she drops the pregnancy news. Aaron’s reaction? Just one word: “Okay.” Three times in a row.
Karen pushes: “I need you to say something other than okay.”
But Aaron is in shock—trying to process if the baby is even his. They had just slept together, so it was possible. But Karen instantly shuts it down: “It’s not yours, Aaron. I’m sure of it.”
Aaron pushes back, pointing out the timeline is too close to rule him out. Karen doesn’t care. Her whole attitude screams: “I only want this to be Zac’s child.”
The Bigger Problem
This was early in her pregnancy, but the scene foreshadowed what would come later—Karen admitting she didn’t want a child with Aaron because “they didn’t know each other well enough.”
Aaron, frustrated but still calm, reminded her: “Karen, I love you. Even if this baby isn’t mine, I’m not going anywhere.”
But Karen didn’t want to hear it. Deep down, she knows Aaron is the better man, yet her heart keeps chasing Zac—the successful version of Zac she always wanted. Let’s be real: if Zac were still broke, working at the airport, and riding that bike, Karen wouldn’t have kept this pregnancy.
Aaron Calls It Out
Aaron nailed it when he told her: “You don’t want this baby to be mine—you want it to be Zac’s.”
And when Karen couldn’t face that truth, she pushed him away with: “I think I need to be single for now.”
Aaron agreed to give her space, but in true Aaron fashion, he never stayed away for long.
Why This Scene Matters
Season 4, Episode 6 is the key to understanding Karen’s behavior now.
Her dismissive attitude toward Aaron and her own baby isn’t random—it’s consistent with how she acted from the start. What’s “missing” for Karen, as she later told Dr. Vaughn, is Zac. Her entire identity for seasons has revolved around him.
Now that she’s lost the baby and Zac has moved on, she’s stuck. Numb. Unfulfilled.
👉 So if you’re confused about Karen’s coldness toward Faith, or why she can’t fully embrace life with Aaron, just rewatch that first scene in Episode 6. It says everything.
