Kelvin Fletcher’s Emmerdale return as Andy ‘sealed’ and it’s bad news for John Sugden
Emmerdale viewers are convinced that Andy Sugden will make a return to the village
Emmerdale fans reckon they’ve cracked the case on how Kelvin Fletcher’s character, Andy Sugden, will aid Robert in his mission to unmask his brother John.
John (played by Oliver Farnworth) made his debut last year, turning up in the Dales as the supposed long-lost son of Jack Sugden (portrayed by Clive Hornby). He quickly made a mark on the locals.
This mysterious doctor integrated into village life, getting to know his distant relatives – including his sister Victoria (Isabel Hodgins). In a whirlwind romance, he also wed Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
However, what the villagers don’t realise is that John is hiding several dark secrets, including the fact that he k.i.l.l.e.d Nate Robinson (Jurell Carter) last year and dumped his body in a nearby lake.
John thought he had successfully concealed his dreadful crime, but Nate’s body was eventually discovered. Keeping a low profile, John then set about framing Nate’s wife Tracy (Amy Walsh), reports Cheshire Live.
Meanwhile, Robert (Ryan Hawley) recently made a dramatic comeback after six years. After being released from prison, he moved in with his sister Victoria in the village, hoping to start afresh.
Convinced that his brother John is hiding something, Robert is also determined to reveal the secret m.u.r.d.e.r.e.r, while trying to rekindle his relationship with his ex-partner Aaron.
Fans are now speculating that a former soap legend might assist Robert in revealing John’s true colours: his other brother, Andy Sugden (Kelvin Fletcher).
One viewer mused: “If Andy Sugden did come back whose side would he be on? Robert’s or John’s since Andy and Robert never did have the best brother relationship,”.
Another fan chimed in: “I really think Andy would be team Rob. Definitely if it came down to saving or protecting one over the other. Would LOVE to see this happen – Ryan and Kelvin were FANTASTIC together.”
Long-standing viewers will recall that Andy was a soap stalwart, making his first appearance in 1996 before departing the village in 2016.
Throughout his time on the soap, Andy was at the heart of numerous high-drama storylines. After years of turmoil, Andy decided to leave the village amidst chaos in 2016 with a fake passport provided by Robert – and he hasn’t been seen since.
